Plone wins 2009 “Best Other Open-Source CMS” Award

Plone was named best non-PHP-based open-source CMS by Packt Publishing for a second year in a row.

PacktBestCMS09Packt Publishing named Plone as its "Best Other Open Source CMS" in its 2009 Open Source CMS Awards.  From Packt's announcement:

We are pleased to announce that Plone has won the Best Other Open Source CMS Category in the 2009 Open Source CMS Award. Plone retains the Award it won in 2008 and takes away $2,000 in the prize money.  Since the introduction of this category in 2007, Plone has consistently featured among the top three, having won it in 2008.

Geir Bækholt, newly-elected president of the Plone Foundation, expressed his appreciation on hearing of the award.  "The Plone community is proud to receive the Packt award for 'Best Other Open Source Content Management System' again this year.  We are grateful for the appreciation shown for our efforts to make Plone the most usable, secure and flexible CMS available."
