Enfold Desktop 3.0 for 2.x users

If you are using an earlier version of Enfold Desktop and need to keep using Desktop while you try Version 3.0, you will need to follow the instructions below.

Client

The quickest, easiest way to try the Version 3.0 client component is to install it on your machine and connect to our demonstration site at us.demo.enfoldsystems.com.

To test the beta client in an environment more like your own site, your server administrator can set up a Desktop 3.0 test site. (See below.)

Please note that you will not be able to connect to your Desktop 2.x server while you have the 3.0 client installed. When you are ready to work on your own site again, you will need to reinstall the Desktop 2.x client. If you need to download the Desktop 2.3 client again, you can get it here.

Server

You can install only one version of the Enfold Desktop server component on any instance of Zope/Plone. Therefore, to try the Desktop 3.0 server, you must create a Zope/Plone instance separate from your production site.

The quickest, easiest way to create such a test site is to download Enfold Server 2.9 and run the installation file. The Desktop 3.0 server component comes preinstalled with this version of Enfold Server.
